About my mentorship
I decided to pursue my mentorship with The Gainesville Ballet Company as an assistant dance teacher. I learned so many things throughout the year. I gained knowledge on how to handle children of various ages, how to run a business from the ground up, and how to communicate effectively while in a leadership position.
During my mentorship, I had the privilege of teaching kids between the ages of 6-15 the art of ballet and jazz. I also taught a ballet/creative movement class to The Boys and Girls Club of Gainesville, GA. Doing this, I experienced a new kind of love for children and dance. While assisting with these classes, I realized that relationships go two ways. I believe i learned just as much from my students as they did from me.
Learning and experiencing all of this from my mentorship, I decided to conduct a research project on leadership and how it ties in with various forms of relationships.
